I am first-and-foremost a mom to my two children, Ciara and Oliver. After I had my daughter in 2004, I began studying breastfeeding, which led me down the path to natural childbirth. After Oliver’s unassisted birth, I realized how important this work is to me. Once my kids are grown, I hope to become a midwife or find some other active role in the birth community.

I live out on Hayden Island in Portland on a sailboat with my family. We are learning how to sail and planning on traveling the world in a few years. I am also interested in photography, and tend to blog a lot in my spare time. I love cooking, and living as simply as I can. I am always looking for ways to cut back in all aspects of my life. I am happy just being with my friends and family, eating good food. I am easy to please.
